First Post

       I'm kinda surprised no one else posted first... oh, well.

       Here comes a writing prompt!

"Something moved in the cupboard."

       "Where is she?" I mumbled to myself as I rummaged through the jumbled assortment of small weapons.

       "Ouch!" I yelped and sucked on my pricked finger. "Darn dagger."

       I slammed the cupboard door shut. Where is that little... Now is not the time to be hiding!

       I opened the adjoining cupboard and stared hard. Something moved. A small shadow. A faint outline of something with scales and feathers.

       "Aha!" I snatched Sicilia from the shadows. She stayed invisible, no doubt knowing it irritated me. It made it look like I had a handful of nothing.

       I shook my finger at her as she slowly revealed herself. "You naughty lizard! You know that today of all days I don't need to be late!"

       She purred and climbed my arm up to my shoulder. I sighed. Why did I have to get stuck with Master Haln's crazy ulnook?

       Sicilia hissed, her bright blue tongue flickered, and her eyes shone red.

       I rolled my eyes. "Don't get so upset. Geez," I muttered. "It's disconcerting not being able to have one thought that's private."

       She chortled deep in her throat. Launching herself from my shoulder, she spread her front legs and glided effortlessly to the door.

       I grabbed my books. "Sure, now you're ready." I grumbled. I opened the door and we headed down to class.
